Photography in South Africa: My Experience (Vol 1)
Project Type
Photography
Date
October 2023
Volume 1
As a person, photography is very close to my heart, I love to capture a moment in time which I think is timeless and which I can show to people in the future which might spark the feeling of memento, richness, beauty and nostalgia. I like my photographs to tell a story and that when people view my photo's, they would experience and draw a feeling of correlation to their own life, experiences and similar fields of interest.
I have loved photography ever since I got handed a camera! My favourite field and overarching passion in photography is Nature!
Nature means everything to me because it's something which I grew up with in my childhood and culture. Nature has been around me all my life! and going to the extent of plants, animals, insects, water and so much more. I just feel that I have a deep connection with nature which makes me appreciate all that it does for us and gives us inspiration into living and being better human beings. There's a lot that nature does better than us humans but the one thing which stands out for me is the lesson that it teaches us to love, live and grow together in an ecosystem. After all they have feelings too! Nature is the space and we're just living in it.
As a South African there is a lot to be grateful and happy for in terms of Nature because by being a country in the African continent it is awesome to embody and embrace the title of 'The Motherland' and 'The Cradle of Humankind'. One of the natural wonders of the world, South Africa is a treasure hidden at the southernmost point of the rich continent of Africa. People from all over the world flock to the nation to enjoy the beautiful weather, lodging, hotels, game reserves, natural attractions, and, of course, the enormous variety of wildlife.
South Africa's diverse environments, which range from lush green forests to scorching deserts and all in between, are perfect for thousands of species. These include intriguing insects, birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, exciting predators, birds and mammals. These many species can be found in great numbers in the country's national parks and game reserves, as well as in the untamed and undeveloped countryside where they can dwell naturally.
When it comes to wildlife, one of South Africa's top draws is the Big 5. The African Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Lion, Black Rhino, and Leopard are included in this category. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see some of the most magnificent animals in the world is provided by the coexistence of a predator and powerful terrestrial mammals.
