Data Visualization: Most listened to music genre in JHB

The Brief:

For this project I will be delivering a fully functioning data visualization Adobe XD prototype which will display my data which I collected. I wanted to find out in my survey which I sent out to see what music genre people in JOHANNESBURG listen to the most and how much they like it. Data Visualization is a key component when viewing statistics or looking at development or under development over past years. Data which is collected is considered as valuable as diamond as it can open up a whole new perception for people to understand why this data is important, where it is coming from and how they can use this data to fix, prevent, and help issues that they may face in the future. On the other hand people who are reading this data can get a better understanding of how they can make something positive out of it or a successful solution to something in the future. For me this brief is teaching me how I can take large amounts of data, whether it be from surveys or questionnaires and display it in a beautiful way so that I can read the information a lot easier and to see the amazing artwork (patterns, colours and linear structures) that computers can generate. Data visualization will definitely help me in the future to portray and depict certain data or variables in a visually pleasing and successful way. This makes the data more natural to understand for the human mind, making it easier to see trends, patterns, and outliers in vast data sets. For me the goal was also to turn data into information and information into insights. The result is that from my survey the most listened to and loved music genre in Johannesburg is POP!
