Augmented Reality: National Geographic Stingray Article
Project Type
Augmented Reality
Date
September 2022
This project is all about Augmented Reality and how the real world and virtual world get placed together into the same living space. Its all about the experience for the user that takes them on a journey of either fun, education, insights into a given/trending topic and even discovery!
AR is designed to add, enhance the things you do as a human being: Being outside, socializing with other people, shopping, playing, having fun. AR can make all those things better.” — John Hanke.
In this brief we had to choose an interesting magazine topic from either National Geographic, Popular Mechanics, Wallpaper or The Times. I decided to choose National Geographic as I love nature and animals!
The end user is essentially someone who I want to enlighten, inform and educate about the relevant information and insights regarding the magazine article which is National Geographic: Stingrays recorded making sounds for the first time - but why is a mystery.
I am ultimately designing this for someone who is very interested in animals, nature and life in general. They could be outgoing or even be interested in nature but they prefer to stay indoors and experience the filter in the comfort of their own home. My end user is someone who indulges in discovery and cant wait for up and coming topics in the National Geographic magazine. My end user is someone who is curious, wants to know more than the average joe and is always keen to experience new things such as Augmented Reality to really bring their nature side to life!
